will be in town for a wedding during the days mentioned and wanted to visit some of the better beer places in the area. we already have town hall and happy gnome in our plans. our friends in the area, not the biggest beer geeks, have mentioned indeed, harriet, and fulton but wanted to get the 411 from the local rb’ers in terms of the best places to hit during our stay.

any recommendations are should i stay clear of any of the ones listed above?

thanks all!

fulton is not a big deal.

Barley John’s and Liftbridge (if you want to venture out of the metro area) would be good additions. Indeed’s taproom is quite nice.

I enjoyed the Fulton taproom when I was there. I think their beer is nothing mind blowing, but decent. Location is nice walking distance if you are attending a Twins game at Target Field, but their season will over by the time you’re here.

as an out of towner, I thoroughly enjoyed Barley Johns, at least on a weeknight it was super awesome to sit near the bar (No TV’s there) and just drink and enjoy the beer and people watch, plus it was Cheap as all get out.

Cheap? $90 and $70 growlers of Rosies and Dark Knight are hardly cheap.

Don’t get me wrong. I like Barley John’s and both of those beers. But I don’t find them to be cheap by any measure.

so we goofed and didn’t look into signing up for a Surly tour before they were all booked...that being said, what place would have the most surly on tap? mainly just wanting to try Wet at this point but really not trying to get too picky.
