as an out of towner, I thoroughly enjoyed Barley Johns, at least on a weeknight it was super awesome to sit near the bar (No TV’s there) and just drink and enjoy the beer and people watch, plus it was Cheap as all get out.

Cheap? $90 and $70 growlers of Rosies and Dark Knight are hardly cheap.

Don’t get me wrong. I like Barley John’s and both of those beers. But I don’t find them to be cheap by any measure.

I still disagree, but it’s all opinion. Their (beer) prices are on the same level as pretty much any other brewpub in the cities. It’s just that what you said is like saying that all Chevys are expensive because the corvette zr1 is $115k.

If you’re near downtown St. Paul, Great Waters makes more sessionable styles, and do a really good job. I wouldn’t make a specific trip to that half of the cities for it, but, if you’re at the Happy Gnome, it’s only a couple miles away. Worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood.

Agreed...

I have not made it but it is LEGIT in bottles and tap. Skip Fulton there beer is not great and taproom is not worth the crowd.

Give Steel Toe a try they do easy and quick tours on Fridays for free.

thanks all. where’s the best place of finding Wet on tap, if any? guess we’re gonna rule out Harriet’s unless anyone has a different opinion on them.

Happy Gnome had Wet last week (not sure if it is still on though). Republic, Muddy Waters, Sea Salt Eatery, Stub n’ Herbs, Grumpy’s all typically have a few Surly things on draft.

Town Hall is doing ’wet hop week’ next week, so you might have a chance of finding Wet there. If not, well... it’s still Town Hall.
