I loved the Adnams Earl Grey beer at the Spoons fest. Why aren’t there more tea beers? I mean, there’s loads of coffee stouts out therebut I think the Adnams Gunnamatta is the first tea beer I’ve seen. |
I think the first I tried was the Marble/Emelisse one, which was rather good ( http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/marble--emelisse-earl-grey-ipa/182444/), as was the Gunnamatta. |
http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/pressure-drop-builders-tea/212279/ not sure if that has tea in? Hardknott rhetoric #3 does. New metalman/hardknott collab also a tea beer. |
I haven’t been convinced by the combination beer+tea yet, the few I’ve tasted didn’t really appeal to me, but off course that’s personal. I can see it becoming more popular though. |
I sometimes get Early Grey resembling notes in IPAs.. |
Certain national brewers manage to get a cold stewed tea taste in quite a few of their major brands, imo! |
Brew by Numbers Saison with Hibiscus and Chamomile was a thing of beauty. |

At the first CBC there was a one-off keg of Mikkeller Beer Geek English Breakfast - tasted like sucking a tea bag, massive astringency. Must be hard to get a good flavour without getting the harshness. |
Michael Jackson reviewed one that I don’t believe exists anymore, Lindeman’s Tea Beer which was a Lambic |
