Just moved to D.C. from Canada, any advice on places here or nearby? Been to Churchkey and Right Proper is close by where I live. |
Pizza paradisio ( DuPont circle I like the best) big hunt is cool time to time |
Go to Bluejacket. Check out DC Brau on Saturday’s during growler hours. If you can drive, check out Port City and Forge Brew Works in Northern VA. |
We are having a tasting right now, actually, in McLean. We try to do them once a month. We discuss potential dates in the Mid-Atlantic forum, and then post the actual date as a calendar event. We’re discussing our annual epic sour tasting now. |
Just don’t go to Hunahpu day!!! Lines for beer!!! |
Originally posted by drowlandvery short lines so etimes at DC Brau, but worth the wait. |
That’s awesome dude, I moved out of DC but will be back in May/June. The local tasting group above is the jam, definitely get to know everyone. Also, the GM at Churchkey is a ratebeerian, craftycarl21. Should get to know him as well. |
Just hang out with the guys who have already posted here, and you’ll be fine. |
You should be able to get a jumbo slice after you are good and buzzed for under 6 dollars. |
Awesome, thanks for the tips and pointers guys! I’m sure I’ll run into you somewhere soon! And wait, Travlr - free beer at the breweries on Saturdays? What’s the catch? |
Originally posted by solidfunkNo catch, they’re just not allowed to sell samples. So they will give you a taste (4 oz or so) of whatever beers they have on, and you can buy growlers/cans/bottles. Not enough to get wasted, so no need for Jumbo Slice. |
