MST3K

I’m out of town, or I’d be in. Also, as a weird aside, I saw the MST3K guys recently; Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy (Tom Servo and Crow) were at one of MPR’s WITS things at the Fitzgerald a few weeks back for the Aimee Mann/Paul F. Tompkins get-together. Was essentially a bizarre comedy/musical variety show, utterly strange and hilarious, and Corbett and Murphy sat in a balcony Statler and Waldorf style, throwing out comments, and occasionally coming on stage. Then, at one point, Neil Gaiman walked out, unannounced, and started in with the rest of the comedy stuff.

No, seriously, Neil FUCKING GAIMAN walked out and joined the show.

One of the weirdest nights of my life.

So, there’s my MST3K aside, and you should totally go to these WITS things, they’re hilarious. IIRC, there’s a They Might Be Giants/Amy Sedaris one coming up soon.

My wife and I thought about going to this show, but didn’t at the last minute. Now I totally regret not going, that sounds hilarious.

I think I’m going to plan on doing Saturday evening as it will probably work out better for food prep and post work timing. I’m tentatively planning something on the crock pot at this point.

Let’s shoot for 5:30 to start for food/beer, then movies thereafter. I may post over on BA too to see if a few more people might be interested.

Cool if I invite my dad? Dunno if he has anything planned for Sat.

Sounds good, depending on how my experiments go tonight and tomorrow I should be able to make it.

Update on food, just picked up a 4lb pot roast from Clancey’s. Expect to be fed.

Although if someone feels like bringing some bread or cheese for snacking, that would also be welcomed.
