was visiting Närke earlyer this year, and tryed there Närke Slätøl, a fantastic easy drinkable pale ale.
The brewer said that it was a singel hop Chinook pale ale, hopped only for the last 30min. of boiling, like a 60, 90 or 120min. ipa from Dog Fish Head, and then dry hopped.
It was realy good, so I tryed to brew something like it at home, and it turned out to be realy, realy good, the bitterness was smooth, and the aroma and taste from the hops was more intensive.
I have tryed something like this in other beers, but for the whole boil, and with good results, but this is just so much better.
Hope this comes for good use for some of you, for you who already know, you already know.

I made an APA last year with cascade hopped for the last 20 min. It was very smooth when thinking of the 40 IBU it had. I named it Cascade Kaskade and drank the last bottle last week. It was still quite good...

It was hopped continuously for the last 30 minutes? Any idea on how much they added per minute, or rather how much did you add per minute in your experiment? 7/9/2009 9:01:24 AM

I assume he means that it was hopped when there was 30 minutes left in the boil, then hopped again (dry hopped) in the secondary a few days prior to bottling.

sk8viking For my homebrew, 20 liters, I used 8,5g. Chinook 11,9%.
I added the 8,5g. every 3.min. for the last 30min. of the boil, and that should be about 50ibu.
The beer was 5% Alc. Vol.
And I dry hopped it with 100g. in secondary.
It turned out fantastic, great aroma and taste, super smooth and drinkable, a great summer beer.
