ISO! |
Would also love to try this. No Fall trip to Belgium planned but it sounds great! Maybe I’ll still be able to find some when I go in March. |
Should be there when I get there Fri, right? Are Belgians as psychotic at Chicagoans? |

Originally posted by bartlebier Armand 4 was available for months in Belgium. Most of us still have a problem with the ridiculous prices for "one-offs", which are basically also just lambic. All lambics are aged in wine barrels, sherry barrels, etc... Just the mention of the name and suddenly, BOOM price x 5. Guess I’ll buy one or two if I come across them, just to try and one to age maybe. But I’m sure there’ll be hoarders buying up the lot just for trade, not because they like lambic. Like Dutchies bringing in their parents and kids in a van, just to get more, because of the #bottle pp limit. The dirty side of beer geekism. I don’t like it. |
Originally posted by tderoeck Why Dutchies specifically? Are the Belgians really not guilty in this or is this just old school Dutch-Belgian rivalry. |
This Dutchy will probably come alone by train, so no chance of me hauling loads of bottles.... |
We have heard more than enough stories about Dutchies not being able to drink one glass of lambic, but coming to hoard boxes full just to trade away. You probably know who we’re talking about. |
