FWIW, I always look forward to seeing what awfulness that people bring. It is like an ironic counterpoint to the high end serious stuff. Me, I try to bring stuff that no one has had. Sometimes it is good, sometimes not. I think we can all agree that finding beers that no one in our group has rated is increasingly difficult, given that our group contains so many with 5000+ rates. I recently brought Natty Daddy because no one had it yet, for obvious reasons, and it was predictably awful. I think that can be fun. I hope to hell Kevin keeps it up.

It was a great tasting! Thanks, Andy for hosting (again)! My only regret is that I got there too late to taste the Dorothy. I passed on the Rita’s because there were way too many open beers to try that showed more promise. I’m glad I did, only because my hangover was bad enough as it was. Cheers!

It’s one of the things I really like about the DC tasting group, there’s really no judgement on what gets brought. All the criticism we’re throwing around is all in good fun.

Lots of groups (non-RB and not affiliated with any other particular website or app) are only interested in whales, and if you don’t got at least one one, you’re probably not going to be invited a second time. We always seem to have a good mix of a few local beers (within 100 miles), with rare (good or bad) country and state ticks. I used to fret quite a lot at the very start when coming to these that I wasn’t bringing my A game, but got over it pretty quickly. Honestly - everyone’s opinion of beer is different anyway. Someone’s 4.2 is another person’s 3.3 or 1.7.

As for next time...

FT:
Kirkland Signature beers (Costco)

ISO:
Big Flats 1901 Premium American Lager (Walgreen’s house beer)
Game Day Lager and Game Day Ice (7-11’s house beers)

I agree. Or in another wording, someone’s 0.8 could very well be another person’s 1.4. World of difference

Must have left my notebook open on the counter because I am now entering my ratings from the tasting, and someone wrote the following over my entry for Blue Moon Chai: " big D worthy". You guys are too much.
