*peeks in and looks around* Oh! Yay! I found you guys!
Hihi everyone! ^_^
I’m one of the Noog-virgins who attended with Scoobyluv that weekend. I just wanted to drop a little note letting you all know I really enjoyed myself.
I’m not much of a beer drinker; in fact I never really even liked beer. Which is why I was invited to come in the first place, as Scoobyluv offered to show me there was much more to life than Budweiser *shudder*, or Miller Light *bleah*. I’m so glad I came, because wow! I found at least 4 beers I really liked, and one beer I loved so much (I still have the label from the bottle) that I pretty much lost my composure and.. um.. How many hugs and kisses did that brewer get again?
Speaker of kisses, to the man in red who brought that delightful concoction, you get yet another *smooch*!
Anyway, I really had a great time, and I got to do my very first vertical! Although it seems that 2004 really wasn’t a good year for whoever brewed the beer I tried. I was told it was a good thing I did my first vert backwards.
I can’t wait til next year!
And to the guy from Moccasin Bend Brewing Co., you’ve got a huge bowl of jambalaya with your name on it!

I need positive IDs for three beers:
1. The growler of alt at the beginning
2. the 5 Seasons bottle
3. the Upstream Tripel (oak or not?)
Thanks.

5 Seasons was their trippel, but it had clearly been sitting for years. I’m guessing it was an ’05 to ’07.

The Tap Schnappi Alt
5 Seasons West Mall Tripel
and I’m pretty sure that we all decided the Upstream Tripel had to be the Oak-Aged version. Although I can’t recall anything specific on the bottle to indicate that other than it was a numbered release.

Now that I say that, I did some reading, even the regular Tripel is Oak Aged according to their website...and it doesn’t mention making Tripel under their heading of "Barrel Aged Beers"
Golden-colored, citrus fruit, spicy, mildly sweet and soft with a hint of oak character.
I almost wonder if both headings need to be combined...
