Only seven here. Eight if you count the now-out-of-business 508 GastroBrewery. Anyone here try KelSo or Strong Rope yet?

I’ve been to Strong Rope. As close as it is to Threes, it’s worth swinging by if you’re there already. Beers were good overall.

I invited you all last summer to the 5 Boro brew tour I did one saturday. We went from Bronx Brewery to Paulaner to Flagship to Keg & Lantern to LIC Beer Project all by public transportation. Admittedly I ended up a drunken mess by the end but if i were to do again I learned a few lessons and could be smarter.

This week, The Bronx Tourism Council and Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. announced a new initiative to offer an afternoon touring the borough’s breweries and distilleries – the Savor The Bronx Breweries & Distilleries Trolley Tour.

The monthly trolley tour will stop at all three breweries in the Boogie Down, Gun Hill Brewing, Chelsea Craft Brewing Company, and The Bronx Brewery, as well as the Port Morris and Tirado Distilleries. Included in the tour is a Savor The Bronx Passport, which when stamped at all five stops offers a free pint of beer at four beer bars around the borough: Bronx Ale House, Blackstone Bar and Grill, Bronx Beer Hall, and the newly-opened Bronx Draft House near Yankee Stadium.

Tickets for the five-hour tour are $50, and the first tour is Friday, May 6th starting at 11am, with additional dates following throughout the year on Saturdays and Sundays.
