I’m opening a small bottle shop. It will only sell craft beers by the bottle and growler (no wine or other products). I’m planning to offer approx. 200 different beers. I am having trouble figuring out how much we will sell in a given week/month so I can figure out our sales (the store will be located in a densely populated area on the East Coast with a strong craft beer community). Can anyone with previous store experience/ownership help me out? Also, what kind of space would I need to dedicate to this many beers in a retail space? I do not need to account for an office, just shelf space and storage. Thanks! |
Good plan. Get bus. Beer geeks will flock. |
Philly? |
Please store all unpasteurized, bottle conditioned and green glass bottles in a dark refrigerator. Or better, store everything in a dark refrigerator. |
I would suggest getting some taps, too. The margin on bottles is very low. |

Perhaps get some experience in the biz before taking out a business loan on a new shop. Not sure a bunch of drunk message board responses are the optimal business strategy... |
People don’t like buying beer off shelves... Keep all the beer behind the counter. |

The only bus plan you need is to pour. |
