I would guess that as a retailer, he sees value in *shifting* beer. Sitting there, it’s worth nothing apart from what the insurance company might value it at after the tragic fire a friend of a friend sets after he realised he wasn’t making any money at all from not actually shifting the stuff. Purely a guess tho’.
