Please Help- Bottle Counts for Special Beer Releases

Hey everyone,

In case you don’t remember I wrote a paper last April on the eBay market for special beers found here.

Well, now that eBay data has essentially stopped with the ban, my dataset is not growing and it sits at 1,600 completed no reserve auctions that sold (double of the last paper). One critique of that paper is I did no econometric regressions. Well, guess what, now I am for my masters degree in economics!

The paper is due soon and I need bottle count data from anyone who can help me. I need bottle counts by vintage (something like 2004 Dark Lord: 1200 bottles total).

Here are the beers I need bottle counts for and please provide the YEAR if possible.

Im wondering if number of ratings for each of these could be used as a proxy of the rareness of these beers, at least to rank them in between. Just in case you dont get the bottle counts. Some of the guesses would really be wild guesses and some of the brewers/distributors may not want to release the true bottle count.

I’ll comment that Raspberry Tart & Belgian Red are virtually bottomless supplies.

Rare was ~11,000 bottles.

God damn, thats a lot of bottles. Were the breweries of no help?

Jesper- this is exactly what I did to determine "remaining bottles" of the Veritas series in the last paper. I was thinking though of putting some sort of theoretical "remaining bottles" formula such as:

Remaining Bottles= Actual Bottles*(0.7^years in existence)

As in every year the bottle stock depletes by 30%

My bottles of 07 darkness read xxx/480, I’m sure more than that exist though.

06 darkness - 80 growlers
07 darkness - ~480
08 darkness - ~5,000
09 darkness - ~7,000
10 darkness - ~14,000
Two - ~400 bottles
Five - ~9000 bottles
