I heard Mitsuya Liquors in Asagaya is going to be doing a little event on Monday April, 6th to celebrate Prairie Artisan becoming available. I saw a post somewhere about a similar event in Osaka as well. Anybody going to anything Prairie related? Since I live in Asagaya I will most likely be strolling down to Mitsuya on the evening of the 6th. |
Hitting Craft Cafe in Imazato to celebrate my birthday with a mix-6 of Prairie tonight! |
I just wonder if it is grey market or legit. Any talk of kegs? If it is grey market, it is a bit strange to do any type of celebration. Hope its legit and Prairie is going to send awesome bottles and kegs. |
Great way to ring in a birthday with prairie!! Happy birthday!! |
Ezo beer is the importer. Not sure wether that is or isn’t grey. No kegs that I’ve heard about yet...only bottles. |
Seems to be legitimate this time. |
That’s a big score. Prairie has also popped up in Canada in bottles, but hard to drive a brand beyond beer geeks with high prices (1500 yen in Japan, $13 in Canada). Still, Jonno has the Bomb and I have Christmas Ale so we are going to do side-by-side. |
1500 retail? |
Was in Belgium and London last time I was in those places too. Bit of an expansion maybe. Have enjoyed all of their beers that I’ve had I think. |
It is a big score indeed. Kind of getting sick of seeing importers in Japan focusing on West Coast IPAs. I do love a good IPA, but there are so many more interesting American beers out there without having to see third tier beers being brought into Japan. End of bitter rant. |
I agree with that fact that there seems to be a lot of mediocre imports here, but I think that extends to beers from many countries and not just the US. |
