My beer is already in the secondary. Can I just dump the pellets on top or do I have to rerack and put the pellets in first or put them in bag with marbles so they’ll sink and I can pull the rest of my hair out trying to get the bag out of my carboy later?
Thanks as always for you tremendous help.

You don’t have to rerack. If you can cold crash the beer later there shouldn’t be a problem to just dump the pellets on top (since they end up on the bottom together with the yeast). Sure, it works without cold crashing as well, but it takes much longer and is less predictable. If you can’t cold crash, go for the other method (without reracking). That’s the way I do it. Though, I use plastic buckets most of the time so getting the bag out is no problem

Dump them straight in. When you rack it to bottle or keg, slide a fine mesh nylon bag over the siphon. Soak it in Star-San first, of course. That’s worked really well for me.

Thanks. I am planning to cold crash. How long am I supposed to do it for? You know my wife loved when I put the whole 3 Gal Better Bottle in the fridge last time. I think I did it for three days.
