Las Vegas in February?

Not fucken bad.

I was also thinking Vegas or maybe New Orleans, but is there really enough craft beer to warrant a gathering in either of those places?

Between the beer bars and the brewpubs, there’s plenty of craft beer. The logistical problem is that there are not any locals to coordinate it.

I vote grand rapids, at the same time as the Michigan winter beer festival.

I would think the point ot a Winter gathering is to embrace the cold, not run from it, Man up!

Fargo is a better choice.

I never heard of the temperature rule for the gathering. I always thought that Winter gathering was held during the winter time months and summer gathering in the summer months.

I guess we could always ask the Orlando crew what the premise behind the RBWG was since they pretty much created it. I always thought the point of the gatherings was to get a bunch of ratebeerians together to enjoy good beer. But what do I know....Shawn

That said, It’s a dream of mine to wrangle up all the native or one time Iowans of Ratebeer for a tasting sometime. If this ever happened we’d have to extend invitations to the community as a whole.

There’s no rule. Write up a bid.

Personally, I live in Phoenix because I grew up in Michigan and am not a fan of snow. Others may not want to vacation in the cold either. Neither should stop you from putting together a bid if you want. Go for it!

If the majority doesn’t have an issue with the cold, though, I would encourage Salt Lake City to put in a bid. Lots of good beer there that doesn’t get a lot of attention, and a great crew to potentially organize it.
