This is an improvement on the 2000 edition, but nothing compared to the layouts between 2002 and now - after a quick look through the wayback machine. This shade of white can’t be serious right? |
Anyone want to send me a pair of sunglasses? |
I like that in 2000 this was the RB Top 10 Beers: |

Originally posted by BlackHaddock I fear that this will be it. It seems that every major change on RB in the past few years has promised "more to come," but nothing further ever happens. Ratebeer has become a site of unfinished features, half-implemented designs, and lazily implemented hacks to patch aging architectural instabilities. To put it quite frankly, there is no light at the end of the tunnel with the current owner. Ratebeer today is a decidedly worse site than it was 5 years ago, be it in functionality, design, reliability, or what little remains of the community (not that the people here are bad, just that there is practically no community left). The site has been thoroughly trounced by all of its competitors, both old and new, be it BA, Untappd, various subreddits, or any of those trading forums. We still have the best database, and we probably always will. I do hope that one day, Joe will realize that what is best for the future of Ratebeer is to sell it to someone who will properly maintain and grow the site and the brand. The database deserves a better website. |
