have a look at Grove list and let me know what you want - I’ll be there on the Thursday, and probably tomoro as well so can always store them in Harlequin cellar...

Cheers Dave much appreciated!

OK looking at the RB site it appears the ones most of us need are the 7 from Belarus (Krinitsa x 5 Olivaria x 2) I realise you’ve ticked the Krinitsa One on a bashing trip so if you wish you could replace that with one of the Polish winners or something?
The next biggest winner for us all looks to be the Lvivske Light from Ukraine so you could go with those 8 for me (tried to keep it to 500ml bottles as we would maybe struggle to share out any of the smaller ones) If we’re worried about not having enough beer for us all to sample then get 2 bottles of 4 different ones I guess, depends really on how many come to the tasting, for example 20 people x 25ml = 1 500ml bottle. Have we got a list going somewhere of what beers are coming so that we avoid lots of duplicating?
cheers!

this is the list...

you need a username and password, can’t remember who set this up but I’m sure they’ll remind us, you can then contact them to get access

so, your shopping list is basically the Ukrainian and Belarussian.

I need to check it, I’ve had the Alivaria Porter, I’ve had a Krinitsa beer too, but don’t think it’s one on the current list!!

don’t think they’ve got any Polish winners for me - don’t forget less than 1% of my total has been input on ratebeer!

think you should! Sheffield, Manchester and Huddersfield are THE 3 best cities for beer in the UK - and among the cheapet too!

I always enjoy Manc land and I’m sure I’d enjoy Huddersfield but, besides being in good company, last time I came to Sheffield it was definitely the low point of the trip. Although, starting at Oakham, stopping off at Thornbridge on the way, spending the night at The Coach & Horses then heading to Ma Pardoe’s on the way back is always gonna be tough to beat.

I know the beer’s not so pricey up there but once you start adding accommodation and train tickets to all the day trips it’s starting to add up.

Damn it, I’m so indecisive when I’m sober...

OK thanks, can whoever set up the beer list for the gathering please beermail me the username and password?

I realise you must’ve had a fair few Polish beers Dave, no worries if you find that one of the Belarus beers is dud for you then just choose a.n.other that’s a winner for you, after all it’s about getting as many new ticks as possible isn’t it!

Just off to Nantwich to scoop the Woodlands brewery tap and then on to the Bhurtpore for their opening festival night, as per usual Simon has kept the list under wraps but there’s always something interesting to be had there... cheers!

May i be so bold as to point something out with ragards to the grand tasting. There’s going to be quite a few less of us than have been at previous summer gathering, so therefiore there going to be alot less beer. Unless we all bring a few more beers each(which seems like a good idea), or else we plan to have a good jolly in the(or a few) boozer(s) after the tasting.

Any thoughts on this one? Im more than happy to bring like 7 different beers rather then the usual 4ish, even if some of them are things that people have had before but are like top 50 beers that people are hot on.

now then

as I said before, I personally favour upping the quota per person. the only restriction we have from the pub is that we need to vacate the room by 7pm.

So I suggest get there for noon, have lunch about 1.30, then what’s people’s thoughts for dinner? we can either get the pub to feed us again either in the room before 7, or we could go down to the bar for food and more draft beer afterwards. or we could go on for a ruby afterwards? don’t think any of the pubs do food on a Sunday normally, so Harlequin is the only option for pub food.

so far we look like having 16 people Sunday, so say 8 beers each = 128 to go at.

so far there are 4 people signed up who have not told me what days they’re attending - Phil, Reakt, Grove, Hildigoltur - so potentially 20 people

let me know your thoughts

I told you on page three i this thread.
