Well I just spent 2 hours entering all the craft beer bars that are now in Jax that weren’t in the database. That one area around King St is a beast. Holy cow- I hope they have a bit of variety when we get there.
One brewery usually has 6+ the other 8+. Both are probably going to do a special release for RBWG-JAX.
For those interested in spending more time at one or the other they are less than 1/4 mile apart, less than a 5 minute walk or for people that can do a 4.0 40...

I keep hearing in my head the guy from Mortal Kombat saying "Jax wins."

Just curious, why is this not held on the three day weekend we have right before?
Shoot, I forgot to address this in your e-mail.
It wasn’t really a conscious decision either way... the other proposals used that same weekend, that’s the weekend it was last year, and we couldn’t do it in March because of other events in FL.
I’m with the other responses, though, many people don’t get that day off, and people that do may want to spend it with family or doing other things. It’s also Valentine’s day weekend, which could put a cramp on our style at many restaurants, etc. The last weekend just seems like a good, generic weekend to get it all done.

There better be Florida Weisses!
Yeah, does the brewery tour include a stop at Jonathan Wakefield’s house?
Out of town breweries are already being contacted to participate, either at the welcome dinner on Thursday night, which will focus on non-Jax Florida beers, or at the Grand Tasting if we can’t get it worked out because of licensing/distribution issues.

Anybody good with graphics? We are going to try to do RBWG-JAX shirt and need a graphic for the front. It can be full size or a pocket type logo or whatever. Less colors is better because generally more colors = more cost. We may also do glasses/snifters/etc. and could use the logo there as well. Thanks!

We are working on Sponsorships, which include a prominent placement on the back of our RBWG-JAX shirts. These will help keep the costs down for the the Grand Tasting and the bus tour. We are also lining up a number of special FL beers (maybe a FloridaWeisse too ).
Anyone that has suggestions, you can bm Danny or me. We want to make sure this is a great event for everyone.

Jax sucked so much when I lived there more than 10 years ago now...fuck I’m old. Anyway, last time I was there the beer seemed way better, I’m sure the weather still sucks but it should be tolerable in Feb. I’ll try to wrap a visit to the ’rents and this together and make it.
