As some of you may know we are attempting to have RBWG in
Austin this time around. I am recruiting the knowledge of the Austin crowd to help out with this. Looking for tips and info for the following:
Grand tasting location
Hotel (should be within walking distance from grand tasting)
Possibly any local bus or shuttle services
Yes I know google is a good place to start, but looking for those that have knowledge and input.
The bus/shuttle would be for one day and would provide a trip to freetail, ranger creek, 512, and Jester King. Of course that is dependent on the breweries agreeing to the visit. Any info is much appreciated.
Walt, I will also send some suggestions to you for your input and to see if you can work something out with the breweries for a special visit.

I have a hotel near me in Round Rock but the only beer place near would be my two places which are next door to each other and half a block from a hotel. I could probably get them to give us the conference room there. But again, it’s round rock so everything except my places is a bit far.

Hey guys. You may wan’t to give nbutler11 (Nick) a shout. He may not be able to help with the beer stops in your area, but he did a great job planning the last RBWG in Phoenix. Wouldn’t hurt to ask him for some pointers. Hopefully a few of us from AZ can carpool over for the event. Good luck.

I would love to have planned this for Austin, but my schedule is absolutely berserk. I’ll try to give a hand if I can. As far as bus/train service, it’s not bad, but the train only runs Mon-Fri, no weekend service. A Friday late afternoon train/bus brewery tour could be possible this way- Friday afternoon- leave at 3:45 from downtown Arrive at Crestview station at 4:05 (Black Star Co-op) Depart Crestview at 5:50, arrive at Kramer Station at 5:57 (Circle Brewery is within walking distance from the station, but I have no idea if they would open up for this) Walk to the corner of Braker/Burnet (.4 miles), catch #3 bus at 8:00, arrive at Draught House at 8:30. Leave Draught House at 10:00 via bus system.

Josh is on here so I’m sure he’d be cool with it too.

Already on it.
Charters I don’t know about but I’ll shake some trees. I’ll copy you on it.

As was previously known, Jeff from Jester King is down for whatever we want.

If anyone wants to put me on a task, feel free. I live in north Austin (so I’m not super familiar with our crappy bus lines), but I can make calls to hotels, or something...
