We’ll miss you Ernie

Man, I only hung out with Ernie 3 or 4 times, but each time he was totally awesome. A big loss to his family, friends, and the ratebeer community. Shitty news :(

I didn’t know him, but a sincere RIP.

Dear friends and family of Ernie, with great sadness, I got a phone call Ernie passed away. He was discovered today. The cause of His passing will be confirmed by the medical coroner’s office in the next few days. If you have questions, you have permission to call the San Francisco coroner office at 1-415-553-1697; ask for Richard. Ernie’s landlady, Mae Huie, 1-415-706-8380, can be called too.

This is absolutely devastating news. I have a protocol posted in my lab to measure IBU’s with a spectrophotometer that Ernie sent me. He went out of his way to send me that in the mail. He was a really cool dude.

Hats off and cheers to a fallen brother.

This is very shocking and sad news. I’ve only met him in person once but had countless conversations via chat and even phone over the last 8+ years. Like whaleman I bet there are 100’s of people that have received stuff from Ernie on this site. That’s just the kind of good person he was. He will be greatly missed.

oh, shit! I hung out with him a couple of times. Not really been digging Ratebeer over the past couple of years, just popping in on occasion, and boom, you read this.
