GreatLibations 1241:5 The BBC came in and took the beer off my shelves. Not sure when it will return. It was all the mainstream 6pks and 12s including the Honey and Black Lager. They didn’t take my Imperial Pils or Longshot.

Heres the lowdown, I got this from the BBC rep:

SA has recalled certain 6 and 12pks of its bottled beer due to possible glass contamination. A routine bottle inspection at one brewery revealed the random presence of bits of glass (most the size of grains of sand, but some small slivers) in some bottles. The problem appears to be isolated to one of five bottle suppliers SA uses. SA believes the number of affected bottles to be less than one percent of the bottles being recalled. Affected bottles are embossed with the digits "N35" followed by the letters "OI" on the bottom.

I took about 14 cases off of our shelves and out from storage. Our distributor has come and taken them away already and it looks like our stock is back to normal. 4/12/2008 10:14:49 AM

If you’re the guy who posted that stuff in the link provided I’m willing to bet your attorney would recommend you remove it promptly.

I may be wrong but I’d check with them before talking too much.

Surely there are other brewers that are using these bottles. 4/13/2008 10:48:24 PM

I was just concerned being in the biz, I don’t want anyone hurt, hopefully OP body was not damaged by SA’s bottles. 4/14/2008 2:36:16 AM

Don’t think there’s a big market for "Samuel Adams" embossed bottles outside of Sam Adams themselves.
