So sent a package from Ottawa (Canada) to Fort Collins CO May 14. It arrived in CO on May 18th, the package was damaged in transit at the first delivery and they wanted to send it back. Both myself and the receiver spoke to fedex multiple times but they refused to either deliver it or hold it at the facility for his pick-up; so they sent it all the way back to Ottawa (arrived May 26) and attempted delivery and then apparently noticed they were supposed to deliver it to CO damaged so shipped it all the way back, with the package arriving June 12. Now at least everything arrived with only slight damage (not a significant bottle) and really its hard to complain when you aren’t supposed to ship alcohol, but still its pretty ridiculous that they essentially shipped it across the country twice...

Anyone have a similar or better story?

So glad this made it. There was two full layers of stickers and paperwork on top of the box, but I guess they figured it all out. This is the only time I’ve had a negative experience with Fedex, but I can’t complain as the box finally got here. Thanks again, Steve!

You sir are a striking example of "American" ignorance. America is a landmass comprised of two continents divided into a north and south portion. I hope this helps clear any further confusion.

P.S. Try not to insult the country you live in.

TRAIN DERAILMENT

Box eventually made it in tact (thank god).

That’s terrible, but I hope someone ended up drinking those and not drain pouring them.

Not really horror, but really strange: About 5 years ago, send a box to Canada.
Got a very small delay, finally box arrived at the right address, apparently there was one bottle missing, box was wet, but there was nothing of broken glassware to be found, the box was still intact and well taped... Strange...

Three horror stories and one weird one.

In the past three months, FedEx has "misplaced" one box of twelve beers sent to me from San Diego and damaged another on it’s way to me from a different person in the same vacinity. Bad thing about the second box was they broke a handbottle of The Bruery Sour in the Rye with Kumquats. Good thing about that second box was FedEx opened the box, cleaned up their mess, and then forwarded the remaining 64 oz growler of Pizza Port (Ocean Beach) Bacon & Eggs Breakfast Coffee Imperial Porter to me, although it was obviously an illegally shipped box of beer.

Another box, from someone in Montreal, was inspected by the Canadian Post and determined not to be Canadian Maple Syrup as the customs form had claimed. That box was neither forwarded to me nor returned to the sender.

Another box, sent from me to a guy in Chicago, with a bottle of Hunahpu in it, was inspected by FedEx, determined to be an illegal shipment of beer and returned to me. No refund, of course. So, I turned around and mailed it back to him via the USPS. It made it’s way safely to him the second time around.

The boxes sent to me from San Diego and Montreal held a few irreplaceable beers/ice ciders.

I thought this was going to be a thread about getting a handjob from a delivery driver bearing boxes of beer.
