know this was a recent topic, but does anyone else think that the Torpedo Ale and Celebration Ale are essentially different beers?
I do.

Yeah, they are. Check the email from Ken Grossman I posted. They are different recipes now

I like that they should be listed as separate beers. Here is the e-mail I received from SN regarding this issue:

Subject: Sierra Nevada Torpedo Ale
Thanks for the inquiry. Here’s the scoop straight from Ken Grossman.
“The original batch of Torpedo was a similar recipe to our traditional Celebration Ale. We were experimenting with a different method of dry hopping and wanted to run a trial batch a little later in the season.
The Torpedo beer we have produced since is a completely different recipe and hop mix. Some people are referring to it as "Torpedo Squared", but we are only producing one type of "Torpedo" beer. We still use whole cone hops in all our beers, and dry hop with the same. The "Torpedo" is like a closed external hopback that we circulate the beer through during the fermenting and aging process.”
I hope that clears up your questions! My apologies for the delay getting back to you.
