Southport NC

Heading to Southport North Carolina in a couple of weeks and want to know what local beers are available in the stores. My family will be down before me and is picking up some beers. They asked me what I want...they usually hit the grocery stores. I would like to drink locals. So is there any locals available that you recommend me advising them to pick up.

Southport is not a very good spot for beer. You really need to go to Wilmington or Wrightsville beach for a good beer store.

There is a Lowes Foods (not the hardware store) in Southport. That will be your best chance for NC beer. You should be able to find the Highland, maybe Mother Earth, and probably Duck Rabbit for NC stuff. The Mother Earth might have cans in Southport so that would be good for the pool, etc. I like all the Mother Earth canned offerings.

I’m guessing they might also have Terrapin and Starr Hill. Not NC beers but ’southern’ beers.

Terrapin, Starr Hill, Highland all offer mixed 12 packs. I’m sure they will have at least 1 of these so that would be easy for ’non-beer’ folks to pickup. The others would be 6 packs.

Heading to Lighthouse Beer and Wine in Wrightsville will give you LOTS of options but its a bit of a drive.
