’ve a selection of Nils beers to try so I was thinking of putting on a spread of Swedish dishes to go with them. What can I cook, apart from meatballs?

Many good courses in there, but I miss fried Baltic herring with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam.

No, but this look alright for a Jackie Brown or a Draft Bear, doesn’t it?

Is lutefisk still eaten in Sweden and Norway? From what I have read, it has become more of an American tradition for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We had it every Thanksgiving at my Grandparents house and it was nasty, but of course, I had to try some every year! We also always had Lefse and that is one of my favorite foods. 8/14/2008 11:55:50 AM

We still eat lutefisk, not everyone but there are some dedicated followers. Christmas is the main season.
