In general terms, gueuze cellars better than fruit lambics. 11/20/2007 6:36:03 PM

i tend to shy away from the geuzes because of the acidity that comes with them. this is why i would rather try cellaring a kriek/lambic i love the woody sweet and sour cherry flavors.thumbs upcheers! 11/21/2007 10:36:04 AM

It’s harder to generalize with fruit lambics. Some, like the Oude Beersel ones have expiration dates set 20 years out. Others are intended to be consumed within 3-5 years of bottling.

i was thinking of cellaring a barley wine, but i just love the hops too much to do that.thumbs upcheers!

I’m with you as far as preferring hopped up barley wines as opposed to malt heavy ones.

thanks for the heads up on this one, it was stuck in my head to get it, and now i am not going to pick it up. narrows my choices by one, as far as everyone else thanks for the suggestion also, and unfortunately i cant get half of them. i will however think about the others i can get that are readily available here. of course if there is other suggestions i would be happy to here of them.thumbs upcheers!

I don’t mean to disappoint you, but I found the hop level this year’s Old Stock to be lacking. I found it to be overly sweet and alcoholic, so on that note it might be a good beer to cellar for a while.
