I am about to fly over the pond again and I have chosen three beers to take with me: which three beers would you take, spending less than a fiver? Reasons for your choice?

My three:

Theakstons Old Peculiar: a classic British beer that has enough depth of character to compete with the ’new wave’ of US craft (malty) brews.

Wadworth Old Timer: nice easy drinking ’old ale’, not much like it in the US that I have seen.

Batemans Black Pepper Ale: quirky, just to let the US guys we are not just sitting still with our brewing in the UK.

Total cost £4.57

Not sure I can buy 3 beers for less than a fiver. Certainly nothing I would want to show off to people in the USA. Thornbridge trio from Waitrose Wild Swan, Kipling and Jaipur for about £6?

You need a B&M outlet closer to you then, that is where I got mine from.

<*))))))><

Not sure of the prices, probably much too dear but :-

Old Chimneys Good King Henry Special Reserve: To show them what Imperial Stouts are really about.

One of the Fullers Vintage Ales for that old fashioned English Ale flavour.

Siren Soundwave; It’s my current favourite beer and very tasty too.

Punk IPA, Fullers London Porter, Butcombe bitter...but there’d need to be an offer on to get them all at same time for below £5!

I would not take 3 beers to the US that cost me a fiver to save embarrassment

Id take a bottle of Siren Americano and 2 cans of tesco value lager that I would destroy upon landing and give them one fantastic beer.
