Its because of two things. A year or two ago, youtube suddenly required all youtube accounts to also open a google account, and then link them together. Those who didn’t want to start a google account (like me and most people I know) got their youtube accounts deleted, as well as all the videos and comments associated with them.
Also, companies have really stepped up their IP enforcement on youtube over the last couple years, causing tons of videos to be deleted.
