I realized that I put on a lot of weight from drinking the past year, 20lbs, so I’m taking a month off with the exception of one beer per week. This is going to suck big, but sometimes you have to break habits to get back to a healthy consumption level. My camping adventure in September is going to be tons of fun though thanks to my lower tolerance!
Who else has taken off for an extended period of time from drinking every night?

If he maintains the same caloric intake via food and cuts out significant alcohol calories, he should trim a few pounds. But to lose 20-30, a month won’t cut it.

I feel much better when I don’t drink during the work week. Wake up easier. More likely to work out each day. More likely to eat clean. I like the break.
Only problem is, most new releases at breweries down here happen during the week. I gotta be there. Therefore, I can really only say that I feel much better during the two or three days during the work week that I don’t drink.

Took 3 months off and also upped my running mileage to 30-40 a week. I think I lost 30 lbs in three months. The first month was a breeze, but after that it was a pain having to miss events and what not.

Life is too short to worry about some weight or when to or not to drink a beer.

One hour at the gym each morning, meat consumption about once a week, no fast food and no processed food, and I can drink between 12 and 22 ounces of beer per night. The only reason I drink each night is that there is too much tasty beer to pass up.
