Would it be helpful to add an additional forum here called industry only? Then anyone associated with a retailer or brewer would have access. We would allow distributors and vendors as well by request.

How would you think the forum could be used? A substitute for probrewer? Recipe discussion, tips and tricks, etc?
I think a large chunk of any possible discussion can be accomodated in any of the other open forums, and there are few enough guys here that if there were specific questions, we can just use beermails.
As much as I would love a private forum to look down on all of the plebs :o I can’t think of any reason to have it.

lithy, such a forum would be accessible not only to brewers, retailers, and distributors, but also admins. A forum bringing together vetted industry professionals and admins has the potential to be beneficial to both groups. If people wished to have discussions regarding recipes, etc., that would be great as well.

I don’t quite get it? What do you consider industry or non-industry? Is the goal to draw less interest in the site?
Probrewer already serves this purpose and is not going anywhere.

It could be quite useful. Idea sharing, problem solving for beer bars is a good thing. We have a group that meets every year but a forum would be helpful more often....
