Nothing for me because Iím re-plumbing the brewery. Getting rid of a lot of soft tubing and replacing it with copper.

But I am thinking about building a Westy 12 clone.

And looking at the SRM in general but mostly for Westvleteren 12.

Thinking about an Imperial Red or a Robust Porter. Need to do some shopping, my fermenters are beckoning me.

Nothing this weekend, have got the midterms coming up. The weekend after that Iíll brew some stuff though. Planning on a Simcoe APA, Flanders Red/Oud Bruin with Cherries and probably a Black IPA. Possibly a DIPA as well.

Donít use the color of the head to reflect the SRM, that can be very misleading. Also, I believe most of the color comes from dark candi sugar, if Iím not mistaken. Caramelized sugar wonít give you the right character, imo. Iíd consider making your own. I did a Dark Strong with all pils and then Candi sugars and got it good and dark. Thereís a nice richness to it as well.

Iím still a brewing noob, so I primarily like to mess with kits.

I just picked up a Bourbon Barrel Porter kit from Northern Brewer that I will be dumping onto the dregs of a sour / funky saison. Why you ask? WHY NOT, I say!
