..but I just bought a 22 oz of Becks tonight. Brought it home and really it just tasted like an American macro..PBR,Bud,HighLIfe etc. |
I post drunk too sometimes... It happens. Love you. Chicken. |
Dude I know it was never great but this is ridiculous |
Cool story bro! |
Wouldn’t have bought a Beck’s to start. The German purity law is optional, meaning I don’t think this one qualifies, and we have it brewed at various shite macro’s here in Oz ’under licence’. It’s a headache in a bottle..., Oh, and cool story bro!!! |
Becks is ok in swill context has a light leafy hop tang I dig |

Perhaps it is due to the same cause that had turned bass ale into an rather ordinary product. Do the same people still make it with the same recipe? I need to try becks as I hear their octoberfest is pretty good. |
The only time I enjoyed a Beck’s was when it broke the omnipresence of Tuborg Green @ music festivals one year (at the biggest one here). Tuborg Green is as close to disgusting that a "big brand" lager comes here (apart from Amstel) in my opinion so even Beck’s was a step up - and it was completely fresh, on tap, which helped. |
Becks has never been good, even in Germany. Over the big Germans on tap in Germany I always choose Bitburger or König if they dont have anything local. Jever is also decent on tap. |
now Bitburger is a delicate Pils ,pretty nice ; |
