My wife and I are headed to Italy to see my sister in Vicenza. Also, any recommendations for bottleshops, beer bars, breweries, etc. would be much appreciated. I have been doing some research, but it appears that this area is a craft beer desert. |
BIrrone brews excellent German styles. They are outside Vicenza in an industrial area and have a little shop/tasting room. |
Venice will be slim pickings, however I left that area in 2011 so it might have gotten better. |
Il Santo Bevitore in Venice (Cannaregio area) usually has a nice tap selection. There’s nothing better in Venice. |
Decent bottles selection here: http://www.ratebeer.com/p/da-aldo/13387/ |
The best place in venice is the red bear pub in marghera .. I met the owner ( pavel ) in belgium And eh is a good guy and he knows beer !! There is almost always some sour beer on And the selection is always good .. In Vicenza the best is birrone .. I never been there but I had some of their beer and are very good .. Who has been there says the place it’s self is not very nice but the most important thing should be always the beer ... Right ??!! |
Not so close, but neither so far (the near region Friuli Venezia Giulia), you can find "Birra di Meni", I tried a couple of their beers and they were quite good. |
Originally posted by graziano85 Birra di Meni should have their pumpkin beer out this time of year. I think I found it to be one of their best and most consistant beers. Birrificio Valscura is in that area and they brew solid beers. Not sure where they sell bottles since I always went to the brewery to get mine, but worth looking for in my opinion. |
Thanks for the suggestions! |
