Any suggestions of ales to have in for Christmas to move them towards CAMRA membership? I tend to have dark winter ales in but welcome other suggestions.

Sammichlaus, 14% Austrian beer - not strictly an ale, actually a dark lager - brewed on the 6th December every year. Struise Tsjeeses also very good, altho this year’s doesn’t taste anywhere near 10%.

Yes I tend to agree with you, but it is worth mentioning that there have been some notable exceptions over the years which have been pretty good generally for e.g. Bristol Beer Factory used to do the 12 stouts of Christmas (they might still these I don’t know for sure) and these were pretty decent with different Impy Stouts usually, racking my brains to think of others though.
