I know you’re just joking here, but hopefully the poll would be in the Beer/Site News forum. Has there ever been a public vote on any RateBeer change? Does it matter whether there has or not? He is willing to listen to all suggestions and take them to the powers that be in order to try to implement what is possible. Traders are unique here at RateBeer in that we have our own private admin that will go to bat for the things that we want and need. Yet the best we can do as a group is bitch and whine and alienate the the person with best chance of making real change because the homebrewers are not forced to see our trade posts? Hell, lets put the trade requests on the RateBeer front page to get even more exposure. Lets be constructive and work together for things that would really help out trading like integrating some automated trading tools into the site. How about longer notes for trade reviews? As for your argument about "forcing" home brewers to see trade threads, couldn’t the same be said of "forcing" traders to see homebrew threads? I’ve been too busy to write up the long post I wanted to about this topic, but I’ll comment on this little aspect for now.. what bothers me more about the trade forum being removed was that it was singled out, and the other forums that deserve to be removed (europe and homebrewing.. industry a distant third) are not and those forums populating the recent thread list annoy me more than anything(probably the same way the trade forums annoy a non-trader, so I can respect the feeling). I still say we need to implement a way to subscribe to the forums we want to populate the list(including multiple metro’s), which would make everyone happy.. I’m not a coder so I do not know if this is possible or how long it would take to implement, but my non informed opinion is that I think it wouldn’t be all that hard to do.. correct me if I am wrong please, as I probably am. It would solve this issue all together and be an upgrade useful to the entire community, not just the traders. On a side note, I too have noticed the site being ridiculously slow lately and its only been getting worse.. is there any specific reason this is the case?(this question is directed at the admins)	5/4/2008 3:03:19 PM Private message

Because we’re special. We get to have our own little area here at RateBeer without non-traders clogging up our threads with garbage that has nothing to do with the persons trade requests. I listen to everything said here - some people are polite and constructive and somple people ain’t. You’re one of the latter. You think the site "owes" you. Well, I’ve got news for you - there’s allot of things that get done here...and people who think their opinion is right (read: like you), and are willing to stomp their feet until it gets done, make things even harder to accomplish. As I mentioned earlier, you think something should be a certain way, so it must be right. You’re exactly what you claim I am. And as for a vote, it’s being discussed. You’re really something. I am very much willing to listen to both sides in most cases. Maybe I have come across as a bit overbearing in this case. If so I apologize. But I would like to see you speak of me this way in regards to any other forum or post...outside monkey. I think my attitude here came directly from your arrogance...which is on display daily.
