Chaz at the other site, as so often is the case, has the most information I’ve seen. Note that the following exchange was from almost ten months ago. I’ve heard nothing reliable as to an opening date, but they seem to be behind schedule (as is standard).

Re: North Loop / Inbound, Chaz passes along the following, from "a thread at ’Beer People’ on Facebook" (whatever that means):

"All operations run out of Minnetonka will move to the new North Loop location. Just as multiple brands were brewed out of Minnetonka for the last 4 years, the same will be true at the new building in Minneapolis."

A bunch of updates and news:

• There’s a rumor cited in the other site’s thread of significant regulatory hurdles delaying or even threatening Angry Inch’s ability to open. I can’t vouch for the accuracy of the rumors, so I won’t repeat the details.
• There’s extensive recent discussion of the ambitious BlackStack BIP in St. Paul on p. 11 of the thread at the other site: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/breweries-opening-in-the-minnesota-2016-2017.375254/page-11
• Clutch Brewing in St. Paul will be in the Jax Building in Lowertown. Hat tip to Windvaner at the other site.
• Das Bierhaus in Menomonie, Wisconsin has permanently closed. There was talk that it would be turned into or replace by an English-style brewpub, but it looks like the “brew” part is not going to happen. From Das Bierhaus’ Facebook page, March 1, 2016: “It appears that the new establishment that will go into the former Das Bierhaus will be an English-style pub with the name ‘Duke and Dagger’. The brewery has been eliminated in order to increase the kitchen space. The opening date is still uncertain, but we wish the new owners the best of luck. Once again, thanks to all the great customers who enjoyed our fine German beer. We are hoping that the brewmaster will remain in the area so that we can enjoy these beers again. Stay tuned!”
• A new (to me) BIP for Nordeast Minneapolis: HeadFlyer Brewing. Hat tip to Chaz at the other site.
• Loony Bin in St. Paul is the brewery that is going into the old Dayton’s/Macy’s/Marshall Field’s building in downtown St. Paul. Hat tip to Windvaner at the other site.
• North Loop BrewCo (nee Lucid) in Minnetonka plans eventually to move all of its brewing operations to the new Inbound BrewCo facility in Minneapolis. North Loop will be the brand for packaged beers, and Inbound will be the brand for beers sold in the taproom and in limited, local keg distribution. Successful Inbound beers may graduate to North Loop branding for wide distribution.
• A new (to me) BIP for Cannon Falls: Tilion Brewing Co. http://tilionbrewing.com/ Hat tip to Chaz at the other site. I think this is a separate plan from The Brew Loft, which also supposedly is in planning in Cannon Falls but about which I’ve heard no updates for over a year.
• Wayzata Brew Works is open, and I added it as both a brewery and a place to the database. The brewery is owned by the brother of the owner of Excelsior Brewing, and the head brewer is the former head brewer at 612Brew. Based on my visit, I would say those influences combine exactly as one would expect. Wayzata Brew Works plans to add distilled spirits down the road. Welcome to the $7 pint era.
• Outside of the metro area, Roundhouse Brewery in Brainerd “secretly” opens on April 28. http://www.roundhousebrew.com/roundhousebrewery/2016/4/16/psst-can-you-keep-a-secret
• Outside of the metro area, it has been known for a while that Schell’s in New Ulm has built an all-sour beer facility several miles from the main brewery. It’s called Star Keller and will have a taproom. The wort will be brewed at Schell’s main brewery and fermented at Star Keller. From what I’m hearing, Star Keller has been established as a separate company, albeit with the same principals as Schell’s, and it technically will be a client brewer at Schell’s. More details and clarification surely are to come. With Star Keller, Oakhold, and Wild Mind, the Minnesota sour and wild brewery era starts soon.
• StarTribune has made “Best of Minnesota” awards. The relevant ones: Best outstate brewery: Bent Paddle Brewing Co. (my pick: Olvalde), Best metro brewery: Steel Toe Brewing (my pick: Surly in a walk but Sisyphus in the non-Surly division), Best new brewery: Able Seedhouse + Brewery (my pick: Spilled Grain), Best barrel-aged beers: Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery (my pick, Barley John’s, but Town Hall certainly beats them for number of barrel-aged beers), Best sour beers: Fair State Brewing Cooperative (my pick: Fair State). City Pages, in its “Best of the Twin Cities” also went with Steel Toe for Best Brewery, Surly for Best Taproom (agreed), and HammerHeart for Best Suburban Taproom (I’d go with Steel Toe for beer and Schram for venue). http://www.startribune.com/best-of-minnesota-2016-drink/373103481/ and http://www.citypages.com/restaurants/best-of-the-twin-cities-2016-food-and-drink-categories-8215915

Quoting Chaz from the other site:

"A few updates:

Blaine - ’Invictus Brewing’ will break ground within the next month, and is looking for a head brewer (ProBrewer link).

Northfield - A segment of the National Guard / Armory property will be purchased by Imminent Brewing.
Additional food and retail plans for the property (with different owner-operators) are also moving forward.

Shakopee - Howling Pooch has submitted their conditional use permit as of last week.

A new (or at least new-ish) plan:

Coon Rapids - Coon Rapids has begun the process of re-zoning to allow for a microbreweries, taprooms, and distilleries.
Brewers Association has a BIP on the books for Coon Rapids. No name for the as-yet to be named plan(s)."

It has been pretty quiet on the new brewpubs and taprooms front lately. A lot of BIPs seem to be making progress behind the scenes. Below are a few small updates and news items:

• On its Facebook page, Angry Inch in Lakeville claims that the reports of its death are greatly exaggerated. “We hope to share our own happy news very soon.” (5-14-16)
• Lakeville Brewing Company, Lakeville, Facebook, 5-20-16: “Looking forward to a mid-June opening!”
• Outside of the metro area, Tavern Brewery in Detroit Lakes has new brewers and a new lineup of beers. http://growlermag.com/now-open-tavern-brewery-opens-with-new-brewers/
• In “It’s Not A Brewery, But…” news, Lawless Distillery Cocktail Room opens on 6-23-16 at 2629 S. 28th Ave. in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis. http://mspmag.com/Blogs/Dara/May-2016/Coming-Soon-Seward-Gets-a-Lawless-Cocktail-Room!/

A new (to me) BIP in Northfield: Tanzenwald Brewing Company. “Taproom with nosh haus opening in November 2016.” http://www.tanzenwald.com/. Hat tip to writerwithwrywit at the other site, who reports that the operation is headed by a man who previously was a brewer at Lagunitas. Imminent Brewing also is in the works in Northfield.

From Nutmeg Brewhouse’s website: "Nutmeg Brewhouse is excited to announce its NEW brewing team! Please help us give a big welcome to JT Dalton, Hannah Talbott and Trevor “Choo Choo” Roediger. Currently in the middle of brewing, check back with us in a few weeks to see when these new beers will become available. Until then, join us for great local guest taps and delicious cuisine!" JT Dalton (previously?) was at Barley John’s. Nutmeg Brewhouse, a brewpub in Burnsville (one of the very few breweries in the south metro as of this writing), opened at the beginning of 2016 but quickly sought new brewers after early batches displayed notable flaws and received poor reviews. I encourage everyone to give them a second chance when the beers from the new brewers hit the brewpub.

Nearby in Eagan, Bald Man Brewing, according to its Twitter feed, seems to be making major and rapid progress on its taproom. Also in the south metro, Lakeville Brewing Company, a brewpub, still supposedly should open this month, and Angry Inch in Lakeville continues angrily to inch along toward an indeterminate opening date.
