Yeah, the stuff I had last year at Volo was great. I look forward to trying more Hopfenstark.
In an upcoming column I’m going to lay out a few great Bavarian breweries that you never hear about. Stuff that doesn’t make it to the US never gets due appreciation.

I don’t know that it belongs in this forum but any brewery that comes up with Yeti is worthy of high praise.
Avery is overrated.

gonna chuck a few in here, that will probably raise eyebrows...
Triple Rock? 21st Amendment? Gadds? Schooners? Valley?
I love’em but they often fall off the radar.

Here in Belgium I would throw out Glazen Toren and Ellezelloise.

I would have to agree with dark horse. They sure know how to make strong beer (they are the kings at hiding alcohol). I will agree with hoppin frog as well. They don’t make many different beers, but their DIPA and stout are great.

+1 on both of those. I can get just about everything Dark Horse does, but really wish I could get CW more than a couple times a year. Both put out some really nice stuff.

others for me are Dark Horse, Furthermore, and Schell (moreso lately)
I’d mention Sierra Nevada and Ommegang but I don’t consider them to be underappreciated.
