Ups: Weather, listening to RapeBeer extoll his wealth of knowledge on all things German, sharing and hanging with all sorts of RateBeer folk, and cookies.. which I think were made by BelgianBeerGal (Or, I was told were).
Downs: Aside from drunk people, lines, and the usual.. not much. Pretty great day.

Hey Brad, I’m pretty sure phaleslu has your notebook. Double check with him.

Ups: high fives and comments due to my kilt. People really appreciating the beers we brought from Alabama. People’s generosity in sharing their beers. Downs: someone stole my cooler (blue wheeled cooler with white lid with Avondale Brewery "Trunks Up" sticker on it). Lots of really drunk people spitting over everything. And the douche ratio has escalated to an unbelievable extent, so much so that I am thinking that this may well be my last Dark Lord Day.

Damn Scotty, didn’t know you were there. STLWill, jckp64, birchstick and myself went directly in the brewpub and later went and joined phaleslu and lushawn and their group of hooligans later in the afternoon. They were set up directly across from the re-entry gate. Hope you had a good time buddy.

Up: spending time with friends down: organization - after hearing great things about the pub for the past couple years, we made the mistake of trying to get in. Got in line as soon as we got into the parking lot. Made it to the front 4 hours later? and were treated to an awesome mosh pit and surly "bouncers". No crowd control to speak of - just a 15 people wide mess. Saw lots of people (probably "VIP"s who know the bouncers) walk right in from off to the right. Bouncers would let the line creep up to the door, then start yelling at everybody to move back. Started booing, chanting bullshit, etc. Bouncers respond by bringing out 2 pitchers of zombie dust, then letting more special people in the pub. Cool. The constant moving forward then yelling "back up" turned it into a mosh pit with the result being an influx of "larger" folk making their way to the front, and people constantly pushing from all directions. One guy from our party made it to the front and couldn’t get in (several people claimed he cut in line - maybe that’s why?) After 45 min or more of the constant shoving, one girl had enough, the rest of us were pissed, so we left. The B line was similarly disorganized. Got in line half an hour before the bottles were supposed to go on sale - waited forever - no line movement. Eventually half our group walked up and cut in. The rest of us suckers stayed in line - and it took us about 3 hours to get through. Same story for buying beer out front - a mass of disorganized humanity pushing to get up front to buy beer. It’s a shame since I’ve had such positive experiences in the past. Probably ruined craft beer events for the girlfriend. If I get tickets again, I’ll wait till the end of my time slot, run in, grab beer and leave.
