Bourbon-Vanilla Dark Lord and Russian River Saison Blonde last weekend. Opposite ends of the spectrum, but two really cool beers.

Chocolate Sombrero. Picked up a bomber on a recommendation with a lot of trepidation, and it turned out to be one of the best beers I’ve tried.

Anchorage’s The Tide and Its Takers. A friend ordered a bottle at a bar and I had no idea what it was but absolutely loved it.

Surprisingly, Robert the F’n Bruce. I think I’ve finally gotten this beer. I mean I always knew it was solid but never drank it for various stupid reasons. It has a great hop profile with nice tobacco and toasted malts. I’ve rediscovered this beer in the hot summer so I’m looking forward to picking up cases in the colder months.

I was expecting a lot, but Bockor Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge actually did make me say wow. That beer is amazing.
