Do you stop going down the pub? I mean really, I’ve only just started homebrewing and what I’ve produced after a touch of research is still better than the beers I had down the pub this evening? What do I do? Stop going down the pub?

No no, keep going to the pub, you need bad beer to know how good yours is!

On a more serious note, go to the pub and pick what you know you’ll like. If I walk into a pub and see an oakham, I’ll have it whether I’ve rated it or not cuz I know I’ll like it.

I don’t really buy bottled beer anymore. I generally go to brewpubs and to bars around here with people. different atmosphere.

Well, that depends... is this a pub or a brewpub? Significantly different. But, if you’re talking about a local brewpub you obviously have made better beers than, I would say, fuck it, ask to work for them -- give them samples of your product and go from there.

Break in after they close and rob them blind to get back your money. Then burn the place down but be careful not to leave any evidence. Then, be a good neighbor and offer to help them rebuild, but only if they agree to feature your beers and cut you in on a majority of the profits. I’m pretty sure this is 100% legal.

Or find a pub with better beer. Or one that encourages Ratebeerians to bring in trades and homebrews to share. There’s a cool one like that near me: http://www.theroyale.com/
