Finally equalling his country count of 124, I thought it was the right moment to ask the question what happened to faroeviking?

Managing to reach 124 countries living in Faeroe Islands seems a great achievement, and something giving me hope that I could also reach a high number like that, but then he stopped rating in May 2013.

Did he simply hang up his bottle opener and retire?
