when do start getting serious and pay attention and start rating it? I typically start when I pour the second glass. |
I usually try to write something after the first pour. If it’s obviously too cold, I wait until it warms up a bit. |
Depends on the style. As a general rule of thumb, I try to rate beers at the recommended temperature that they’re served at. I know this isn’t a perfect rule, but I tend to let darker and/or BA beers warm/open up before I rate them. I will rate a Black IPA cold though, as I like them that way. |
I rate from first pour to the end normally. I find most beers tend to change considerably after they sit. Sometimes that’s a good thing and sometimes it’s not. |
I rate the first glass and adjust if need be. |
Start from the beginning and adjust as we go. Big picture stuff often takes more than the first few ounces. |
Let it warm and then rate away |
I drink 2 oz then dump the rest. or fill up with water, recap and trade it. |
