4.6 back in 03. Was an impressive drank at the time. Would still drop a 3.8 - 4.0 on it right now. I’ve enjoyed the couple sixers i have had in the last few months love that chewy body. Also noticed that the price has gone up about a buck since i last purchased a 6 of it a few weeks back. Still a solid deal. |
Me. It’s a great struggle beer. I drink well when I can but sometimes my horse don’t come in. Good for the money. Prove me wrong. |
Just saw it was my highest rated in my first 50 rates, at 4.2 |
Rated it a 4 back in ’08, my first year rating. |

The new cans and packaging seems to be reviving this one in my area. Bomber sales have been dropping for a few years now, and that hurts a brand like AB that needs to sell within 90 days, even at relatively cheap prices. I gave this one a 4.3 when I first had it, and I also at the time was enamored with barleywines. It’s not a bad beer but certainly not a frequent choice. Seasonally, I’d probably enjoy it most in the fall. I may be one of the few here who did like Levitation a lot, and I always thought if they rebranded it as "Lil Bastard," since it drinks like a light AB, it could have saved that beer from the chopping block. |
