Visiting the Struise farm in the summer of 05 drinking 10+ bottles of Pannepot with Carlo, Urbain and the rest of the family while eating stuise of the grill and listening to ambient music from the outdoor speakers while naked kids were running around playing! Epic day/evening!

So far I think I liked doing Italy as a beer trip the best: Toccalmatto, Goblin Pub, Ma Che Siete, Bir&Fud, Brasserie 4:20.
+1. Having Bruno Carilli take us down to Toccalmatto’s cask cellar with a pipette and a bunch of glasses. Umberto’s cooking with beer at the Goblin pub, trying to figure out what was in the unmarked kegs and bottles that Dany sent him from Fantome (answer: the bottles were grapefruit beer, we never figured out the kegs), and drinking with Umberto and the gang til 9 AM, after a death-defying drive through the hills at breakneck speed. Spilling out onto the street with a fresh glass of Tipopils from Mache, on the way to a special tasting at Bir&Fud. Doing shots with Alex at 4:20, then trying to find your way back to your Italian garden villa across the Tiber.

So far my favorites have been Portland and Montreal. Haven’t been to Europe yet, though.

I’ve had two incredible trips involving beer and sight-seeing. One was Belgium, with 6 nights in Brussels and 5 nights in Brugge, day trips to Westvleteren/de Struise, Antwerp, and Gent. Just an incredible trip. The other was 3 weeks last summer, with 10 days in Berlin, 5 nights in Prague, 2 days in Munich, 3 in Augsburg, and 2 in Stuttgart.

If you’re a serious beer drinker (not getting drunk) I highly recommend the UK for travel.
Can’t you be both? Anyway, I liked Scotland and the UK, too. It was way more than beer for me over there.

Our last big trip, I actually won a trip to Paris and Brussels so we tacked that onto our already planned trip to England for a wedding. After a relatively quiet couple of days visiting the inlaws/extended family we hit London for fonefan’s 50th birthday (I think this was one of the best nights I have ever had in terms of quality of beer vs. quantity consumed/good times had with new people), and our first time at GBBF. Then we spent a mediocre couple of days in Paris, and a great couple days in Belgium including an amazing lunch/session at DHVL. That same summer we had done our Portland to Seattle trip which was also pretty great. That was a great year!

When I won new Belgium clips of faith contest. They flew me to fort Collins for film fest treated me like a rock star. All the free beer I could drink then same thing at tour de fat in Denver where I had tons of drink tokens I got to give to whomever I chose. Then I met friends at great divide where we hung on roof all afternoon. Then 4 days of hiking in Rockies finished off at GABF. Amazing

RBSG in Grand Rapids. I had been going to the Summer Brewers Guild Fest with my Dad for a few years, but combining it with the gathering was incredible. Getting a flat tire on a charter bus has never been more hilarious. Tons of great locations, a fun crowd, and an overwhelming amount of beer. To cap the trip off, I stopped by Slow’s BBQ and Kuhnhenn on my way out from Detroit. The trip actually made me reconsider why I moved away from my home state, and then I realized there’s a reason why I never attend Winter Brewers Guild Festival there.
