Nothing special, but well worth a stop in if you’re in downtown Vienna. Decent food, decent service, and better than decent beer.

Nice little brewpub in Vienna. Great outdoor seating for nice weather. Like all places there you will have to deal with cigarette smoke. They had 5 rotating beers, 1 of which was not available, and a couple standard brews. Pretty decent beer. It was great to get a break from all the lagers and have an IPA. Food was decent. Interesting "veggie burger" which I’m pretty sure was breaded deep fried tofu but it was good.

Brewpub. Downstairs looked cosy - at least what I could see through the very dim lighting and the blue smoke haze. Seriously Austria - catch up here. Still smoking inside? Upstairs is mercifully smoke free and there is a little bar and shelf area and then loads of tables in the main room. Beers are interesting and tasty with one notable drain pour. Service was pretty good and the barmaids pretty! Food was basic fayre but my chicken schnizel was nice and the fries done well. Well worth a visit but steer clear of downstairs unless you get off on second hand smoke.

A few steps from the centre and Schwarzenberg brewpub. Nice atmosphere, staff and good beers. Good for a short or longer visit, interesting selection of delicious beers.

I had a bad experience at my first visit with Lager and Weizen but second time i took some IPA and it was perfect. The place is nice and service is quick.

Only US style brew pub in Austria. Although I like Victory brewing co. in Philadelphia very much, I prefer Hop Devil from 1516, what a great beer. Shame that none of the other beers comes close to this world class beer. Burgers and other food great too. Like the dark bar on the ground floor. Shame they have been forced to shut off TV. Must visit when you are in Vienna!

For me 1516 Brewpub is the best beer destination in Vienna. They definitely make a lot of interesting beers. The style varies from classic with a contemporary edge to more bizarre barrel-aged stuff. All their beers seemed to be way above average. Smoking downstairs and non-smoking upstairs. Staff were friendly and all spoke English. The food is mix of traditional Austrian and American pub food. A nice quirky brew-pub. A must-visit when in Vienna.

A classic of the Viennese beer scene. Refreshment in the forest of traditional styles of the region, brewing mostly Anglo-American beer styles. Not all are great beers but some are. Although I did not have food some did and it seemed nice. A bit more expensive than other places in Vienna, but a must if there, especially as they always make some experiments with their seasonals.

Smoking downstairs but smoke free upstairs. Amazing choice of beers and although excited initially the tastes were a let down. My better half had the Wit which was lovely but the same couldn’t be said of the Harvest Hop, Eejit Oatmeal Stout and Savinsky Imperial IPA at 8.1%. This I was really looking forward to having had several real IPAs in the US but this was a murky brown and a let down. Worth going to to see if you have better luck.

Expensive samplers but the quality of all their beers are good. Very fine helles and wit. People spoke English and very easy to communicate with. Sportsbar feel. Must if in Vienna.
