This is the ultimate beer drinker’s dream. They have over 50 beers on tap, and they change their taps a lot. It doesn’t get much better than this!

Ok, I had a review before of this place back when I first started going there, and it has grown a lot. I’ll preface this updated review with a disclaimer that I am now a regular. Its popularity has also grown quite a bit, so sometimes it can get a bit packed, but I’ve never gone (and I go twice a week usually) and not been able to get a table or sit at the bar. They are up to about 52 beers on tap, and its always the best of the best. Stone, Dogfish Head, Avery, Great Divide, Ska, Rodenbach, St Bernadus, Port, the list goes on. Additionally Austin (one of the owners) works all the brewers into having special event nights featuring that brewery. When he does this they generally bring in some shwag (glasses, shirts, etc) and some special kegs to put on tap. Good food, good service, good atmosphere, and most importantly good beer.

Local Dough’s name has changed to 1702, but the awesome beer and pizza remain. Excellent selection of beers on tap. Stone, Dogfish Head, and, many, many others. I even had a Rodenbach there recently. (Heard they are getting a keg of DFH 120 soon.) 1720 also offers a small but interesting array of bottled beers. This is a place for real beer. No Bud, Miller, Coors, etc. Service has been excellent whenever I’ve been there. The owner, Austin, knows and loves beer, and really tries to accomodate his patrons. The lunch special is excellent and the pizza slices are HUGE.

When I first got to 1702, I thought it was kind of small. I thought it was kind of expensive. I thought it was taking too long to get my food. I was so wrong. The food is a great value because it is gigantic. It is world-class food. The greatest pizza you will ever eat. Huge selection of drinks. No AB/MillerCoors swill. 1702 is probably my favorite place in the world.

Awesome place! The beer selection is unbeatable. The pizza is great, slices are huge. The rest of the food is standard for a bar. This place has the best beer selection in town(Shanty has more bottles but they are more expensive and not as good).

This place rocks! You hungry for pizza? You better be thirsty also and have a DD. This place is a beer heaven in disguise! Lots of taps and bomber bottles. Great food and great service! Biggest slice of pizza in AZ!

1702 has increased to 46 taps, all microbrews and Belgians. Staff has been increased, and hours have settled down to a regular schedule. 1702 can really be packed sometimes, people are finding out this is the greatest selection of beer in Arizona. There are two owners, Austin really knows his beer and holds a beer judging class (by enrollment only) every week, and slowly the other owner, Eric, is learning!

The best place in southern Arizona to have fine beers. No Miller, Coors or Budweiser here - 52 beers on tap, many from breweries such as Port/Lost Abbey, Lagunitas, Stone and Arizona beers from Four Peaks, Thunder Canyon, Sonoran to mention a few. Great beer/pizza specials for lunch and a friendly and knowledgeable staff to help you with your beer selections. Great website is kept current (www.1702az.com) and brewer tastings always scheduled. A bit noisy but that adds to the atmosphere a bit. Free wifi. Can’t miss this place on a visit to Tucson, easy to find near Speedway and Campbell and the U of A.
