Lawrenceís *other* brewpub. :) Interesting interior architecture, has sort of a "tipi" effect but made of wood planks, primarily. The design is probably my favorite thing about this place, though. The beers range from good to slightly below average. The food is not bad, just typical brewpub stuff -- chicken fingers, burgers, etc. Service has also been fine the couple of times I have visited. Prices are about average, perhaps a tad on the high side for what you get, but not by much. Iíll be honest, I just donít see the point, unless you live in
Lawrence and want a change of pace. If youíre from out of town, I wouldnít bother because this is a very cookie-cutter type place, been there and done that.
A sports bar like brewpub in a building with an extremely high ceiling. Lots of TVs with lots of bar top tables and a large L shaped bar. Service was good but bartender didnít seem too knowledgeable about the beers. A nice number of taps available. I didnít try the food on my visit. Prices were quite nice.
I usually stop in here every time I am in Lawrence to visit Free State. I donít know why I keep coming back as their service is poor, the beer is poor, and the food is poor. Only worth a stop if you need some extra ticks while in Lawrence.
Brewer was hard at work, suspended above the main bar, so +1 for atmosphere. This is solidly a college place. Beers are mostly unadventurous, with the collaborations a welcome exception. Food is filling pub fare. Server gave me a sampler tray wiyh one missing, but didnít kniw the missing beer until it was pointed out. Staff kept bugging me with the check, hurrying my ratings.
Visited in September 2010. This is a college town brewpub staffed with college students. The interior is somewhat dark, though nicely decorated. Our service was pleasant, the food good, and beer average to above average.
Its a sad state of affairs when the food tastes better than the beers. There are notable exceptions to this rule, but they usually involve worse than usual food items rather than better than average beers. Still, there is no better place in Lawrence (besides Phog Allen) to watch a KU basketball game. Keeps me coming back.
Pretty generic feeling place, complete with generic food and generic beer. The beer was not very good. I had a sampler of about 9 different beers for $9, I think. Good value, but the beers were lacking. Place was new, but had a run down feel to it, like nobody really cared. Service was nice, but not too enthusiastic.
Well, i quite liked this place. friendly to those new to craft beer and not too diluted to the veteran. good number of taps, food was a bit greasy but pretty tasty, and friendly staff. and i wish i remembered her name but my server was a fox, god she was hot, and somewhat knowledgeable too. A recommended stop before you hit Freestate..
