Relatively new microbrewery located not far from the ferry terminal in Manly. Beers were nothing wow as just the usual culprits (PA, Hefe, Kolsh & ESB). Was very quiet for a Friday arvo. Update July ’12. A much wider selection of beers to when they first started up. Seasonals and one-offs etc. I’m not a massive fan of the beers - some are just downright awful and poorly brewed however they seem to have quite a following from the locals.

Visited Sunday afternoon, it was pretty busy. Close to the the ferry landing. Seating inside with some outside. They had 6 beers on tap and 1 cider. All of which was solid but a few had some noticeable diacetyl. The food was good.

Took the ferry from Sydney to Manly, nice ride there in the day, and to the lights of the Sydney harbour coming home at night. Think the ferry was just short of $15 return.
Walk off the ferry and out of the terminal, cross the first road, turn right. You’ll see a black sign with white print stating "micro brewery" just up the road. It will be on your left hand side coming from the ferry.
They had 7 beers (well, 6 beers + 1 cider). Tasting paddle of 5 for $15. Single tasters cost $3, very nicely thought for us beer nerds out beer hunting. Tasting paddle was great looking too.
Beers not served as horribly cold as most other places in this country.
Didn’t eat but had the 7 different drinks they had available. Brewery visible behind glass. Fairly big indoors and smaller outdoors seating. A flight of stairs to get up to the place from the street. No WiFi.

The beers were all solid, especially the special from the "Keller Door" series. One of the brewers was Canadian and the pub did a fun Canada Day celebration with poutine and a "Canadian" brown ale brewed with maple syrup.

One of the better brew pubs in Australia with a decent view of the wharf. $3 tasters for all beers, they have the 5 regulars and 3 brewpub one off’s. Service was nice and knowledgable. The downside was very very poor food, generic offerings and not executed nicely.

Very busy on a Sunday afternoon nowhere to sit. Despite this bar service very little queuing. Tried Weiss ESB and Kolsch all OK but nothing more. Expensive and would definitely recommend Murray’s before here

Visited March 2012. Friendly, first floor bar with a pleasant view from the balcony over the harbour. The specials were all stouts when I visited, and the oatmeal one was enjoyable. Well worth a visit.

4 pines has a nice feel and attitude, great beers on tap, with good food for a reasonable price compared to their brothers over at Murray’s. It get busy and can be hard to find a seat sometimes, but other than that a great place too go.

Not a bad place just across from the ferry terminal (so no excuses for missing the ferry) its kind of small but the view is nice. I’m not really a huge fan of 4 Pines beers but the ESB is pretty decent. Prices are high because it’s Manly but overall, it’s alright. I would recommend Murray’s at Manly over this though.

Good set up with friendly informative staff and good service. Liked reading the story of how the brewery started on the huge chalkboard. Also liked the keg seats.
