Took me waaaay too long to make my way here, but Iím glad I finally did. Went during happy hour, where everything is just $2 off. Maybe because it was a Monday, maybe because it was hot, but the place wasnít too packed and my friend and I struck up a nice conversation with the bartender, who ended up treating both of us to a free drink and inviting us to see her husbandís bandís album release party a couple days later. Overall, reasonably priced with a good happy hour and friendly bartenders. And free popcorn!

Fantastic bar with big selection, fairly knowledgeable staff, cozy with huge backyard, always a cask or two... same block as Pacific Standard so between the two they have 80% of the craft beers covered on any given night. Hah!

Probably my favorite NYC beer bar, all things considered. 35 minutes by LIRR, very close to Atlantic terminal. Excellent chill atmosphere, fairly quiet. NIce outdoor area in back. I have brought my six-year-old with me several times on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Good, friendly service. Very good selection with occasional gems. Free popcorn (a 10 for food). Good prices for NY. Only drawbacks: theyíll let you sample before purchase, but sample is in a toy miniature mug from which it is impossible to get aroma. Real drawback: They need to LEARN HOW TO CLEAN GLASSWARE!!!. Glasses should not have bubbles clinging to the bottom and sides (had to knock a point off on service for poor glassware cleaning).

We stopped in here for a few afternoon beers and I was quite impressed by the selection. There are quite a few really good beer bars in this area, but this one is one of the best. They had a good number of beers on tap that I had not seen on previously at other bars around the city, which is always nice to find. the bartender was friendly and provided good service. I didnít see food (other than the free popcorn) but I also didnít look or ask either. Seemed the backyard would be nice in warmer weather as well, though it wasnít particularly appealing when it was 37 and snowing...

This was my 3rd of 4 area craftbeer bars visited on a Saturday afternoon. For me it was the second best (youíll have to read my other reviews to see which I liked best) but this was a close second. This place had a really good selection...some unusual beers...and really nice people working there. They were helpful with the selections and samples. This place gets pretty crowded and can be hard to move around in (not much room between the bar and aisle) but it is a must stop on any craftbeer tours in this neighborhood.

Divey little place (my favorite kind of bar) in Brooklyn. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great selection. No food but they do have a binder of menus from surrounding pizza places and such that deliver. Great spot

Visited just after dinner on a Tuesday. Dark, dark wood bar as you enter, bar stools up front, tables in the back. The bar was mostly full of a good crowd when I arrived. The friendly, engaging, knowledgeable bar tender more or less immediately worked me into the conversation that was going on, which I appreciated. Tap selection was not crazy rare or vast, but was well chosen, and there were easily 4-5 beers I wanted to have. Bottle selection was quite good. I loved the vibe in this place, and felt right at home - easily would be my local if I lived in the area. Evidently people go nuts for the free popcorn.

82 = ★★★Ĺ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Pretty typical, but nice pub. The beer list was great and the beer they had on the "upcoming" board was even better. Service was fantastic and the prices were pretty good. Did not eat here... donít think they even serve food but could be wrong. Very nice place.

Conveniently located near almost every single subway line for anyone not in the immediate surrounding area. Solid craft beer selection, and consistently so. First time I went was to meet some friends without knowing much about the place. I walked in to see a mostly empty bar with KBS on draft (among other treats) and fresh, free popcorn to munch on. Reasonable draft prices plus a frequently updated tap selection make me a happy camper. Bottles can get pricey though, particularly their vintage bottles.

This is starting to become the "it" bar in Brooklyn for me. They are getting great taps right now and the place is never packed. Good but small bottle list with a few special bottles here and there. The service is usually good at the bar. Fast without a problem. I have been here a few times in the past 2 years (more often recently). Free popcorn is always nice. Place is dark but comfy. Plus you are 3 doors away from Pacific Standard, so you have numerous chooses when here. I recommend this bar if you are looking for a bar in Brooklyn but not in Williamsburg.
